Green Eggs and Ham and the Journey of The Prax C.1
Chapter 1: Two Zaxs, The North Going Zax and the South Going Zax. Who stood face to face, in the Prairie of Prax for 33 years. Thinking that the world would stand still came to an end after endless summers, springs, winters and falls. Just to face the facts, throughout the years the world did not stand still, the two stubborn Zaxs refused to leave their domain. Prairie of Prax was soon bought by a man, who had made money by inventions and conning customers by the name of Sylvester McMonkey McBean.  Sneetches 1: Gentleman, you both need to move out of here. We're about to build cities and roads here.  North Going Zax: I'm a North going Zax you can't force us to move.  South Going Zax: Not moving. Not even at the least.  Sylvester: Is there a problem, gentleman?  Sneetches 2: Mr. McBean, we tried to move the two stubborn Zaxs out of the way so we could build. Sylvester: I'll give it a shot, hello Mr. North and South Going Zaxs. My name is Sylvester McMonkey McBean, I own this whole property. If you two would like to go your own merry way, I would like to build my highways and buildings here.  South Going Zax: Not moving. North Going Zax: Not moving until, he moves out of my way  South Going Zax: Excuse me? I've told you before I'm not moving, not an inch of the east or the west. You know the South Going Zaxs rule. North Going Zax: Oh rubbish, rubbish you know my rules as well. (To Sylvester) Since we both refused to move. We won't move for anyone, not even you. Sylvester: Well I can offer something that can help if you two agree to cooperate.  South Going Zax: Are you deaf Mr.? (To Sylvester) You shouldn't put your nose into our problems in the first place, it'll cause some major accident if we are to be forced by outsiders like you, stay out of our business. North Going Zax: We'll stay out of yours. Sylvester: Alright, I'm an understanding man. I'll leave you both with your standoff. (Walks away from them and turns to the Sneetches with an evil, determined look on his face.) Built over them.  1st Sneetches: But sir… We can't just build over them, how will they… Sylvester: (Interrupts 1st Sneetches.) I don't care, that's their problem. Let them figure out for themselves another 1000 years. You build my city and you will get paid as I promised.  3rd Sneetches: Hope you don't trick us again like you did last time.  Sylvester: Well who's the fool? Those who were foolish enough to differ from each other, all because of a significant of a stupid stars on thars? I'm the man of brains while you are technically my bird brain, slaves who are doing my dirty job. So let's get to it and get on with your work. Thank you gentlemen. I should be off. Heads to his office and sat down to have a sip of coffee. He gets interrupted by a phone call. He picks up the phone. Sylvester: How many times have I told you not to keep calling my office? (Female muffling on the phone.) Oh what's important is that I'm a businessman and a very busy man. (Muffles.) What do I look like, a bank? That's your problem. You go off and take the little nuisance with you. (Hangs up) 20 years later, Prairie of Prax was a new city and the past years had been a huge attraction for consumers, especially the poor Zaxs. The Sneetches still work under Sylvester McMonkey McBean. Between the 20 year gap because of the Sneetches mistakes and now suffer to survive one day in their community. Although they seemed mostly to have learned their lessons and got along but there were still problems ahead. Has we discussed another character of the story about a young unique Sneetch named Adam. While most Sneetches were born with either star bellies on thars or not. Instead of being born stars or plain, yellow fur like the others he had light blue fur with shades of blue dots and designs on him. As soon they see Adam they turn their noses away from him.. His parents after he was born were threatened to be outcast from their community all because of Adam being different and believing because of their mistakes. Adam is cursed as a reminder of their wrong doing. They felt ashamed and begged the old leader of the Sneetches what they could do to stay. Old Leader Sneetch: You get rid of that cursed Sneetch. Then you may stay.   The parents decided to bring Adam into the orphanage after feeling he was the blame for then almost losing their home. There poor Adam is raised and treated poorly by other kids and adults there. When he plays outside or at the gym no one ever lets him join in either team. Eventually he goes to a foster home with other families and receives the same treatment. One day he couldn't take it anymore and ran away from the Sneetches from the Beaches to be on his own. Then he overheard about how a man named Sylvester McMonkey McBean had conned his own kind way in the past. When the Sneetches had no money they bargained with Sylvester so he put them to work to build his city, Prairie of Prax. Adam found his way there and basically had to survive the city and had little jobs here and there but it also caused the poor boy to make mistakes because of hunger. At times the poor thing lived in the streets in a cardboard box with hardly any food in his stomach. He always wished that he could have a family that would love him the way he is.  TV news anchor: Today on the Prairie of Prax is the 59th anniversary of the Zax's standoff. Only 59 years ago, the two Zaxs never budged from an inch or at least, not even a nudge. (Shows the cities and people crowding) The Zax's once believed that the world could stand still. Well of course the world didn't stand still as 20 years ago this whole city and highways was built by a man named Sylvester McMonkey McBean. A beautiful city and lots of jobs here. Been successful over the years.  (First entrance with Sam and Guy.) Sam: Wow look at this!! This place has everything. Guy: You can say that again. I can't believe you convinced me to come here. Sam: What's wrong with that, I thought you would enjoy it. With your best friend and possibly.. (Moves his eyebrows.) Something for Michellee? Guy: Well I suppose…  Sam: What are you waiting for? Let's go!  Guy: Alright… Sam: We're just a couple of guys, best friends as a matter of fact going to enjoy ourselves. (Excitedly) Oohhh Guy look at this!! New briefcases!! New improved briefcases!! Look, it can stack anything!! Guy: Oh no don't .. Sam: Not a word, I will buy it for us.  Guy: Uh ok. Thanks.  Sam: Are you hungry?? I can tell you're cranky when you're hungry. Guy: Yes, I'm pretty hungry.  Sam: Well let's go!! Green Eggs and Ham! Guy: (smirks) Sure ^^ Oh…(looked sad) I can't… The doctor told me to give that a break…  Sam: (Deep gasp) Sighs!! No way!?  Guy: I know right?  Sam: That means… (gulp) Sad man's special?? Guy: Oh no… you know what… I'll have them anyway.  Sam: YES!!  (Then there was commotion and a lot of yelling in the crowd. They see young Adam running off from someone. He just took some food from hunger and he was being chased by a cop and captured.) Cop: You know better not to steal kid.  Adam: I'm sorry, I haven't eaten in days… I was very hungry…  Cop: It's still wrong either way. Come with me young man. I'll take you home. Adam: I don't have a home, please let me go!! I don't want to go back!! (Hand slips from the cop's hand and the food falls to the ground.) Oh no!!  Cop: Hey! Now look at what you did!!  Adam: (Runs off again) Sorry!! Cop: Hey come back here!!  (Adam runs and bumps into Sam and Guy and falls back.) Sam: You ok?  Guy: You need to be careful, running and not paying attention could hurt yourself. Adam: (Was about to get up when the Cop grabs him.) Hey let me go!! Cop: You're going with me, kid.  Adam: Please I'm sorry.. Sam: Wait what's going on??  Cop: This kid stole food. I'm taking him to jail. Adam: I was only hungry….  Guy: Don't be harsh with the boy. Is there something we can do?  Sam: I'm sure we can work something out…  Cop: Sighs…. 20 bruckles and I can send him for free. Sam: Here.  Cop: (Let's go of the boy.) You're lucky someone helped you. We catch you here again and we won't go easy on you next time.  Adam: Yes sir… (Look at Sam and Guy.) Thanks and sorry for the trouble… Sam: Hey no problem… Hey, why don't you join us to eat? Adam: You mean… you want me to join you? Guy: If he says so it's a must.  Adam: I am very hungry… Thank you. Sam: Have you ever tried Green Eggs and Ham?? Adam: Green Eggs and what??  Sam: And Ham?? Adam: I have not… That sounds gross. Sam: Sighs!! Oh no, Green Eggs and Ham are the most Nutritionist and the Greenest in the world!! You remind me of someone I know. Guy: Please don't. Adam: If you can see I'm a Sneetch… Well… honestly… I'm a vegetarian…  Sam: Oh we see. (Sees someone he recognized from when he first met Guy.) Donna!? Is that you!?  Donna: Oh hi, Sam how ya doin' honey? I see you want the usual?  Sam: Yes! Guy: Same for me as well. Donna: Well I see you finally changed your mind. Guy: I did. I like Green Eggs and Ham. Donna: That's wonderful. (Look at Adam.) What would you like honey?  Adam: Uhh… (His stomach is growling.) Well… I want a happy sandwich…  Donna: Alright darling, Happy sandwich!! Two Green Eggs and Ham!! Chef: Happy Sandwich!! Two Green Eggs and Ham!! Coming up!  (They started eating and Adam was eating out of his mind because of hunger.)  Adam: I haven't eaten like this in weeks. Guy: In weeks?? Where do you live? Adam: I don't have a home. I live on my own.  Sam: You're… on your own? Adam: Yeah, no parents and nobody. I lived in an orphanage and then foster homes… and I ran away from there and lived over here on the streets since.  Guy: Why did you run away?? Adam: As you can see, I'm a Sneetch but… I was born different. Instead of Stars on Thars or Plain… Not even Yellow… I'm born Blue with shades of blue circles…  Sam: We can see that.  Adam: In the Sneetches of Beaches they see me as a curse to them. Therefore… They hate me. My parents left me in the orphanage as a baby so they can live with the Sneetches…  Sam: That sounds harsh. Why would they think you're a curse? Adam: I guess it's because of a mistake they made in the past… and I'm just a reminder to them of their mistakes.  Guy: What mistake? Adam: Years ago the Sneetches used to differ and separate the other. Those who had Star bellies belong in their community while those without get treated like garbage. One day 25 years ago a man named Sylvester McMonkey McBean came to the Sneetches of Beaches. He had created a machine called the "Star on" and "Star off." So my own dumb kind spend all their money on this con man's inventions. They lost all their money before realizing.. "We are all the same… Sneetches are Sneetches and no one is not differ." Yeah they still haven't learned their lesson… even 25 years later. Only 2 years later that man got really rich and sold our Sneetches of the Beeches and Prairie of Prax to build a city using my kind to work for him.  Guy: I remember that, I was a teen when the city was getting built. Some of my family members worked over there.  Sam: (Thinking about the past.) I was just a little guy… Guy: Sam, you still are a little guy.  Adam: (Snickers a little.)  Sam: I really don't remember much… That was before my mom took me to the orphanage.. Adam: You were in an orphanage too?  Sam: Yeah… What happened was I really didn't have a father… he basically left us and my mother had no money to take care of the both of us… She had no choice but to bring me there so I wouldn't go hungry. She wanted me to have a better life. Adam: That is sad. Is that why you guys helped me?? Sam: Well I've been in your shoes .. I know what it's like to be hungry.  Guy: Me I just help out. So why would you live in the streets?? You know that can be dangerous. Adam: Eh, I knew that… I can take care of myself. Guy: Hmm hmm especially the cop almost took you to jail. Adam: Oh that… Sam: Believe me Guy and I have been in jail. No fun… they would torture you with bunch of questions, and guys who thinks who are tougher and they would squeeze the life out of you for answers.. Guy: Sam… (continues to talk.) Sam. Sam!  Sam: What??  Guy: That's too much… do you want to scare the kid? Sam: Just joking Guy. If you don't have a place to sleep we can offer you a place in the motel room with us. Adam: Really?? Guy: Yeah you need a safe place to sleep.  Adam: Thank you both so much.  (At the motel Adam takes a nice hot bath that he hasn't had in awhile. Comes out into the room with Guy and Sam playing cards. The next morning the bizarre alarm comes on and a huge speaker hurts everyone's ears.) Announcements: Hello the City of Prairie of Prax today we're celebrating the 59th annual of the Zax's standoff. 59 years ago from today they vowed not to budge or nudge from inch to anywhere!! Guy: Oh brother…  Announcements: So come on by to the attraction and see if the stubborn Zax's will finally move or budge for another 59 years. Sam: Maybe we should give it a try, Guy. Guy: Don't think it's a good idea. Adam: They won't budge, believe me they won't.  They go downtown and they bump into Michellee, E.B. and Sam's mom.  Sam: Wow you guys finally came well this is great! We're about to see the Zax's standoff. Hey Mom. Pam: Hello Sam.  Guy: So Michellee and E.B. you two finally made it.  Michellee: Yes we did. E.B.: Hi! Guy: Hi E.B. soo I got a souvenir for you. (Pulls out a Chickeraffe that reminded her of Mr. Jenkins.) E.B.: Guy, I love it. It reminds me so much of Mr. Jenkins. (Hugs him.)  Guy: Oh.. I forgot one more. Where’s Jr? Jr.: I’m here, Daddy! (Waving his little hand out behind Michellee’s head.) Guy: (Picks up his little guy.) Guess what I got for you.  Jr.: Sam I Am? Guy: No. (Chuckles. Pull out a stuffed animal or Panda Dog.)  Jr.: Pandy Doggy!! I wuv it! I wuv it! (Hugs it.) Pam: Sammy (notices Adam) Who's this? Sam: Oh, him this is Adam, Guy and I found him wandering in the streets by himself so we took him in.  Pam: That's very sweet of you two. Michellee: He doesn't have a home? Guy: No.  Michellee: I see… (Hands Jr. back in her arms.) E.B.: (Pulls Guy down. Whispers.) Did you get it yet?? Guy: Got what? E.B.: Guy…  Guy: Oh yeah… (Pulls E.B. to the side.) I got it.  E.B.: It's beautiful, My mom would love this. Guy: Shh it's only a matter of time. It has to be just right.  E.B.: Yes.  Michellee: What are you two speaking about?? Guy: … Uh..  Well you know, catching up.  E.B.: Yes we got to see the stand off c'mon mom.  (They all come to see the Zax's standoff. Guy wasn't really enthusiastic about it but still watched it anyway.)  North Zax: Oh great… This time again…. South Zax: Of course, this is a waste of entertainment. North Zax: 59 years we've been in this demise…  South Zax: I don't know if I can stand it anymore..  North Zax: What was that?? Did I hear you say something? Does that mean I won? South Zax: Absolutely, positively not!  North Zax: Although I wished we could think of a way to pass…. South Zax: You crazy how!? Were blocked! We were blocked 24 years ago. North Zax: (Scoffs) Well I got news for you brother, you said 59 years ago that the world would stand still… Mmm does it look like the whole world stands, smartalec?  South Zax: Well maybe I was wrong.  Sam: Hmm tense.. I will walk over there and give them a suggestion. Guy: Like they're going to listen to you, Sam. Sam: Awe why not it doesn't hurt. Guy: No Sam. Sam!!  Pam: What do you think you're doing young man?? Sammy!  Adam: (Follows Guy to go after Sam.) Sam, wait up for us!!  Guy: Adam no!! Sam!! (Chases after the boy. Wait!!  (Sam finally runs up to the grouchy, stubborn Zax's.) North Zax: Oh no… South Zax: What do you want, kid? Leave us be… Sam: Well I thought maybe I can help… North Zax: How can you help??  South Zax: There's nothing you can do for us. We're stuck…  Sam: Well maybe perhaps have you ever thought of jumping over the other… Oooor had someone dig a hole for one of you to go under the other or the frog?  North end South Zax: NO!  Sam: Oh… uh ok… I thought I could help, that's all.  Guy: See Sam, I told you they won't cooperate…  Adam: Why can't you guys just try walking through each other? (To the Zax's)  The Zax's: ??????  North Zax: Have you lost your marbles kid?? South Zax: Walk through each other?? Do we look like ghosts to you? Adam: Well you guys had survived here for 59 years I kinda thought maybe… North Zax: We couldn't walk though if we tried. South Zax: When we first met we bumped into each other. That's when it began.  Adam: Oh… I see…  North Zax: Why don't you move along kid. South Zax: Get lost.  (Everyone was groaning seeing that it wasn't working.)  Adam: Well I guess you guys can figure it out for another 59 years. South Zax: Excuse me, boy!? (Accidentally turning his body, making his body shift a little to the left.)  North Zax: What are you doing South? Are you crazy!? Well anyway… (Went to move forward.) I guess I can pass… South Zax: Oh no you don't!! What do you think you're doing!?  (The ground from the earth started to rupture. The crowd started to get nervous and grab their young out of the Zax's standoff.)  Guy: I told you it was a bad idea! Sam: I'm sorry but I didn't do that… Adam: I didn't mean too. I was just trying to help. What's happening!? Announcements: (Panicking) Everyone run for our lives, it's an earthquake!!  E.B.: Uhhh (scared and nervous.) Mom???  Michellee: (Grabs her hands) Come on honey!! Get little Jr. Guy, Sam!! Adam get out of there!!!  Jr.: Daddy!! Out of there!! Guy: C'mon!!!  Adam: What about the Zax!? They'll get crushed!! (Runs back.) Sam: NO ADAM!!  Guy: Foolish kid. Sam go, I'll get him! Sam: GUY!!  Pam: Sam!!  Sam: I'll be back!! GUY, ADAM!!! (Runs after them.) Pam: NO!!  (Michellee feeling scared and nervous. So was Jr. hugging E.B.) North Zax: (At the South Zax angrily.) Now look what you did you old fool!! We could have had people killed!  South Zax: Grrr… you're the one who tried to bump me out of the way!!  Adam: C'mon you two got to get out of here or you'll both be crushed! North Zax: You had caused enough trouble, already.  South Zax: Don't waste your time. Adam: (Runs over anyway and grabs their hands.) Please let me save you!! (Went to make them move again and the earth was getting worse.)  North Zax: Stop it kid, are you trying to get yourself killed!?  Guy: ADAM C'MON LET GO!!  Adam: Please you two can't stay here!! (Sam decides to help Adam get the Zax's out.)  Guy: Sam, I told you to stay put!!  Sam: C'mon help us!  Guy: Ohhh, I'm going to regret this… (Comes over to help them get the Zax's out to safety. Has the towers behind them collapsed.) Look out!!  (They ran out to safety and the earthquake stopped. Everyone came out safely and we're talking and shooken up about it.) North end South Zax: (To Adam) Look what you've done!!  Adam: We were only trying to help… North Zax: There will be a shift now because of you! South Zax: If you hadn't bothered us none of it would have happened. (The Sneetches saw that Adam was the one who caused the fiasco.) Elder Sneetch: See what I told you Sneetches. Didn't I tell you all  That the boy had cursed us all? It's the boys fault!  Guy: Hey, he's just a kid. He didn't mean it either. He was only trying to help. Michellee: Guy!! (Hugs him.) You made it.  Guy: We’re alright. Jr.: Oh no, the building is broken. Pam: Sammy, you're alright.  Sam: I'm ok, mom.  Sylvester: What is going on here? Why has the celebration stopped!? Sneetch 1: That's the reason sir!! The difference had caused it!!  Adam: I have a name you know and it's Adam. Sylvester: Oh my beautiful towers… (Look at the boy.) You know how long I had these buildings built with my own hands??  Adam: You didn't build it. Maybe you deserve it. Sylvester: (Eyes widened, his eyes turned red in anger. Eye twitching, lips pouting and curled.) Excuse me, do you have any idea who you're speaking to? You have any idea how much trouble you have caused. You could have killed anyone just by making the Zax's budget. (Look at the Sneetches.) Fools!! Who let this fool pass? None of you weren't guarding, weren't you? Sneetch guard: No we were at lunch. Sylvester: (Looked like he was going to crack.) LUNCH!? LUNCH!! Sam: It's not the kids fault sir… it's my fault I was the one who tried to give the Zax's option… Sylvester: Oh really, but you didn't cause them to shift. Adam: (Scoffs)  Sam: You're going to blame some kid all because of some curse?? Elder Sneetch: Exactly. Guy: You Sneetches never learn do you? Sylvester: … Exactly… Well my Sneetches… more work to do and adduct your pay! (To the guards) You are all fired! You all pack and leave the Sneetches of Beaches.  (The Sneetches started to protest.) Sylvester: Good day!  Adam: No, don't do that!! Please, I'll do anything! Please don't take our home!! Please!  Sylvester: Like I care. Sam: Please don't do this. There's got to be something we can do Mr. … Mr. Sylvester: Mr. McBean and you? Sam: My name is Sam. Sam I Am. Sylvester: I Am?? Eh? I had heard that before…  Pam: Hello Sylvester.  Sam: ?? Uh mom? Sylvester: Oh is that really you? Well hello there, I say you haven't changed a bit.  Sam: You know this guy, mom? Pam: I do… Sylvester: Oh you're still not upset about the day I left?  Sam: Left??  Pam: You did more than just that… Do you feel ashamed for what you have done the last 25 years?  Sam: What are you both talking about? Guy: ???  Michellee and E.B.: ?????  Pam: Sam… This is your father….  All: (Gasps)  Sam: (In shock) My father??? (Felt weak in the legs and fell backwards.)  Michellee: Oh dear. Jr.: Oh oh, Sam fell down.  E.B.: Sam!  Guy: Sam?? (Caught him basically fainted.) Sam?! (Help him sit up.) Pam: Sammy?? Sammy??  Sylvester: Pfft, sentimental are we?? Guy: Well can you blame him? Sam are you alright? Sam?? Sam. (Pam was fanning him.) Sylvester: Well I have a lot of work to do… I must be going.  (Pam was still fanning Sam.)  Adam: So what should I do to make this right Mr. McBean.  Sylvester: Let's see, you know what you can do to save the precious Sneetches on the Beaches? We'll, I'll tell you. You heard of a story of the lost treasure out of the Prairie of Prax? Have you? Adam: Yes.  Sylvester: The reason I bought this place in the 1st place… but… I never found it. If you can find it… you can save your precious Sneetches on the Beaches and the stupid Sneetches will have to forgive you and once again make another mistake. Why don’t you come to my office? We’ll discuss the matter. In the meantime.  (All blackouts and hearing voices and echoes.)  Jr.: Sam okay, Daddy? Is he taking a nap? Guy: Yes… He’ll be okay, son. Sam, can you hear me? He’s coming out of it.  Pam: Sam, Honey?  Sam: Uh, what’s going on? What’s with the worry faces? Where are we? Guy: You fainted Sam.  Pam: Sammy, I’m sorry I overwhelmed you with the news. I’m sorry honey.  Sylvester: (Snaps his fingers to the Sneetch.) Fetch me some water, please? (Take it from the Sneetch.) Thank you. (Walk up to Sam and give him a cup of water.) Too much to take in huh? Well have some water you looked parched, son.  Sam: Don’t call me that. Where were you?  Sylvester: What did you think? Building my dream city, til you and the kid ruin the towers. (Scoffs.) My own flesh and blood and a curse Sneetch. Pam: That’s karma for you, Sylvester. It was your fault. You sent your men to attack my home and I was no longer safe. I had no choice but to put him in the orphanage.  Sylvester: You have no proof I sent them, Pam. I rather not discuss it. It’s not about you at this point. It’s about this kid (Adam). So you want to do something for me? I want you to find the treasure.  Adam: Then what’s the treasure, sir? Sylvester: I want you to find a special orb. It was lost many years ago causing everything to go off balance. It’s an orb that is magical. Makes illusions, wishes, healer and other things. It is a really dangerous journey. You get that and give it to me, then you will no longer be a curse to your kind. Perhaps you can change yourself.  Adam: I’ll go. Guy: Not alone. Sam: We'll come with you. Guy: I didn't say… Sam: I'm going to help Adam to bring this dead beat down!  Guy: Alright. I'll go too. Pam: Boys, that's a dangerous journey.  Michellee: Maybe we can go together. We can maybe find it together.  Sylvester: You kidding me, this is a man's job. Way too dangerous for girls.  E.B.: Really??  Sylvester: It's best you girls stay here and enjoy. They say they'll do it.  Guy: Sighs.. Honey don’t forget we have Jr. I can’t risk that. Michellee: Alright be careful Guy. I’ll stay with Jr.  Guy: I will. (Gives E.B. something and whispers.) Give this to your mom later. E.B.: Alright.  Guy: Alright, little Guy, you behave yourself. Jr.: Where ya going?  Guy: On an adventure. Jr.: I can’t go?  Guy: No, you can’t. Want to do me a favor, little Guy?  Jr.: What’s that? Guy: You protect mom and sissy while I’m gone. Jr.: Okay.  Sam: Mom? Pam: I’m coming as well.  Sylvester: Oh right, I forgot about you. You’re an agent..  Pam: “Was” since I reconciled with my son. Sylvester: Oh it’s too bad, Sammy boy. I would love to know more about you. You look like your mom. (Sam frowns at him.) Pam: I think we’re done here.  Sneetch kid: Hey, you really going to find the treasure? Adam: Yeah. I am. Sneetch kid: Hey my fellow Sneetches the curse kid is going to find the treasure to get us out of here!  (Everyone and the Sneetches began to cheer for the boy's, "Journey into the Prax.") Adam: I wasn’t expecting that…  Sam: Wait til we really reach there, Adam. They’ll respect you then. Then drop Mr. McBean.
